The Girls’ Basketball team completed what was the most historic season in school history. The Lady Vikings captured the Lancaster-Lebanon Section title; the school’s first in thirty years! The girls finished the year with an amazing 28-4 record. Three of their losses came to perennial state power Lancaster Catholic, however the girls avenged those losses by defeating LC in the PIAA State Championships. The girls reached the Lancaster-Lebanon League Finals, and finished off an amazing District III tournament by qualifying for the PIAA Championships. Once there, the girls continued to impress by advancing all the way to the Elite 8, before falling to District 7 South Park. The girls captured championships at their own Tip Off Tournament, defeating defending State Runner-Up Palmyra, and also won the Annville Holiday Tournament. Zoe Zerman led the Vikings with 441 points this season, joining the 1,000 point club as a junior. Zoe currently has 1,027 point for her career. Megan Brandt had a remarkable year scoring 428 points, and is only 114 points to join the 1,000 point club. Cassiah Ray, Amber Kintzer, and Elizabeth Voight round out the starting five. Their tenacious defense and ability to play tired, hurt, and without breaks was truly amazing.
No doubt these teams will be back at it in a few weeks, and preparing for another year of greatness. And although no one ever can predict what the future holds, we are certain it will be plenty more of the same.
