Mr. Shamp loves teaching, but stated that he does enjoy the ability to have his summers off. Mr. Shamp thought about becoming a history teacher, but said he like the English professors at Wilkes far better. Mr. Shamp isn’t really into Shakespeare although he talks about him in class. He said he appreciates The Bard, but is not a huge fan. As lots of people know Mr. Shamp loves talking about his cats; Smokey and Bandit. One of his favorite things about his cats, is when he gets home after school Smokey is there waiting to meet him at the door.
Mr. Shamp hopes to visit China one day because it has one of the oldest cultures in the world. He would like to try “real” Chinese food and help people learn English. If Mr. Shamp wasn’t living here he would be in the northern part of Mexico. Mr. Shamp’s favorite superhero is Batman because he has a dark past and has cool stuff. When asked if he would want to be any famous person from history, he replied, “ No one. I’m fine being me. I don’t want to be anyone else”.
If Mr. Shamp had to live in any other time period he would live in the 1940s during World War II. One thing Mr. Shamp wants every child to take away from his class is their high school diploma. Mr. Shamp is fun, intelligent, and witty. These ingredients make him a student favorite amongst the seniors who take his British Literature course each year. If Mr. Shamp wasn’t a teacher he would be a mailman...lucky for us he is a teacher.
