“You can paint anything in the world. It’s just the matter of whether or not you will attempt it,” says Nena Huber, our December Artist of the Month.
Not only has Nena been taking art classes since she was in kindergarten, she is also involved with art club at NL. This year Nena is taking two art classes, with Mrs. Zemba. Her favorite art class is Illustration. You can check out Nena’s work in the art show cases on display by the auditorium. Nena’s favorite style of art is pop art, and she mostly creates political figures. Nenas creates her pieces by first sketching them with a pencil and then finishing them with the medium she is using at the time. Her favorite medium to use is colored pencil. Nena likes using modern art to create her pieces.
When asked how it felt to be selected Artist of the Month Nena replied, “I feel honored since I know our school has artists that are more talented than I am.”
Depending on what piece Nena is working on, the time it takes to finish it will vary. Although Nena is a very talented artist she does not have any plans on majoring in art. Nena’s advice for up and coming artists is to, “use your art as a message.”
Congrations Nena on being the December Artist of the Month. Have a great rest of your year!
